Tension as Fulani Bandits with Sophisticated Weapons Attack Katsina State, Kill At Least 7, Many Injured

Tension has gripped Katsina State after armed Fulani bandits launched a late-night assault on Magajin Wando village in Dandume Local Government Area, leaving at least seven people dead and several others injured.
The attackers, reportedly armed with sophisticated weapons, struck between 11:00 p.m. and midnight on Saturday, unleashing heavy gunfire that threw the community into chaos. In the exchange, a vehicle belonging to the Katsina Community Watch Corps (CWC) was set ablaze.
Confirming the incident, the Katsina State Commissioner for Internal Security and Home Affairs, Dr. Nasir Danmusa, commended the bravery of the CWC, whose swift intervention prevented further casualties. He assured residents that the government, in collaboration with security agencies, would intensify operations to secure affected communities and restore calm.
Residents have been urged to remain vigilant and to provide timely information to security operatives as authorities move to forestall further attacks.
