“Sovereignty Over What? Over Mass Graves or a Nation That Negotiates With Killers?” – Barr. Ifeanyi Ejiofor Declares, Says Nigeria’s Sovereignty Has Been Auctioned to Bandits

Abuja, Nigeria – November 8, 2025

In a powerful weekend reflection titled “When the Monsters They Created Began to Rule Them,” human rights lawyer Barrister Ifeanyi Ejiofor condemned Nigeria’s ruling class for breeding and enabling the terror groups now holding the country hostage.

Ejiofor traced the nation’s insecurity to political greed and manipulation, arguing that Boko Haram, ISWAP, Fulani militias, and criminal bandits were products of Nigeria’s corrupt political system.

According to him, these groups were once used as tools for election intimidation and political dominance but have since evolved into uncontrollable forces that now dictate life and death across several states.

From Borno to Kaduna, Benue to Enugu, Ejiofor lamented that entire villages have been razed and citizens forced to pay levies to bandits, while politicians and former security chiefs, many of them complicit, continue to live comfortably in Abuja.

Ejiofor further drew attention to former U.S. President Donald Trump’s renewed call to “wipe out the monsters committing genocide against Christians in Nigeria,” describing the Nigerian government’s panicked reaction as hypocrisy.

He asserted that those opposing external intervention fear losing their political and financial lifelines built on insecurity, not defending sovereignty.

Ejiofor insisted that Nigeria’s sovereignty has already been compromised by the growing control of terrorists and the government’s unwillingness to confront their sponsors.

“Foreign help is not colonisation, it is rescue,” he declared. “Nobody is coming to dismantle Nigeria’s democratic institutions. No! Nigeria truly needs help,” calling for transparency, accountability, and international cooperation to restore peace.

His closing warning was stark: until Nigeria punishes those who empowered terror, “the monsters will keep dancing, and their creators will keep hiding behind national flags.”
