Brasília, August 27, 2025
Amid growing calls for national transformation, President Bola Tinubu used his address to Nigerians in Brazil to sound a stirring call to action: Nigeria must lead Africa’s future through innovation, food sovereignty, and bold reform.

Tinubu’s remarks came during his state visit to Brazil, where he praised the South American giant’s development journey. He emphasized that lessons from Brazil—particularly in agriculture and technology—could serve as a blueprint for Nigeria’s own upward climb.

Quoting presidential spokesman Bayo Onanuga, State House communications highlighted Tinubu’s rallying cry:

“We must bring Nigeria to the forefront of Africa’s progress, driven by technology, food sovereignty, and the courage to change our destiny.”

This message aligns with efforts already underway in Brasília, including the signing of five Memoranda of Understanding with Brazil covering trade, aviation, science, finance, and diplomacy. The goal: convert symbolic solidarity into actionable partnerships.

Meanwhile, Tinubu reaffirmed his commitment to removing bureaucratic hurdles across key sectors—especially agriculture—to spur food security and export potential.

Nigeria and Brazil are two of the world’s most populous nations with deep cultural and historical ties. Brazil’s success in agribusiness, energy, and innovation offers a template for Nigeria—and Tinubu appears intent on translating that inspiration into tangible economic results.
