Ned Nwoko Alleges Regina Daniels Is Battling Drug, Alcohol Abuse – Accuses Wife of Violence, Names Suppliers

Abuja, Nigeria – October 19, 2025

Senator Ned Nwoko has hit back at his wife, actress Regina Daniels, accusing the Nollywood star of drug and alcohol abuse and blaming her alleged substance dependency for the breakdown of their marriage. The Delta North lawmaker made the claims in a statement posted on his official Facebook page titled “Regina’s Unprovoked Carnage And Rampage In My House And In My Absence.”

In the lengthy statement released on Sunday, Senator Nwoko said Regina, who rose to fame as a child actress and married the senator in 2019, had become violent and erratic, allegedly slapping and assaulting three household staff in the space of 48 hours and destroying property, including cars and windows. He accused two people identified only as Sammy and Ann of supplying drugs to the actress.

“The truth is, I have set a clear condition for her to accept rehab in Asokoro or outside Nigeria, especially Jordan where she will not have access to drugs,” the senator said, according to the statement. He added that rather than submit to treatment, Regina had moved to an undisclosed location where she purportedly has “unrestricted access to drugs.”

Nwoko denied allegations that he had been violent toward his wife and insisted that none of his other wives had ever accused him of abuse. He described incidents at home as having been orchestrated by those he named as suppliers, saying that while he took their son, Moon, to hospital one evening, “a scene of chaos unfolded at home, orchestrated by Sammy, Regina’s main drug supplier.”

The senator also alleged that Regina threatened their resident nurse after the nurse exposed the actress’s alleged drug use. “A clear headed Regina would have taken Moon to the hospital but instead she even threatened to kill our resident nurse (for exposing her drugs abuse),” he said.

Regina Daniels, 25, had earlier gone public with a video posted online in which she broke down in tears and complained of alleged domestic violence in the marriage. In the viral clip, the actress is seen surrounded by people, including a woman believed to be her sister, as she says, “Not again, I can’t stand the violence, it is too much.” At one point in the footage men appear ready to intervene and a man is seen holding what looked like a stick.

The video and the conflicting public statements have stirred a wave of online speculation about the state of the marriage, a union that has long attracted attention because of the couple’s widely reported age gap.

Confirming the family unrest, Regina’s brother, Ojeogwu Samuel Danhillman, also known online as Sammy West, posted a furious message in support of his sister on his Instagram story. In part he wrote: “Makachi, e pain me say una wan finally laugh my sister. Let me repeat anywhere wey man dey beat woman, whether na my sister or not, I go fight with my blood. Senator Ned Nwoko, you get luck say after you beat my sister again, smash her head for wall, you wan comot send thugs! I swear I for burst all your jaw.” (sic)

So far, there has been no independent confirmation of the full facts surrounding the incidents described by either party. The senator’s statement names alleged suppliers and describes specific episodes of property damage and assault; Regina’s camp has circulated footage and accused Nwoko of repeated violence.

The flaring row raises pressing questions about the welfare of the couple’s children and the private handling of alleged substance abuse and domestic violence within high-profile households. Observers say the matter also underlines the difficulty of dealing with such disputes in public, where social media clips and counter-statements shape public opinion before formal investigations, if any, can take place.

Legal and family sources told our reporter that close relations are appealing privately for a medical and professional intervention to address the claims of addiction and to ensure the safety of all involved.
