Iran’s Revolutionary Guard Vows ‘Most Devastating Offensive Operation’
Tehran — In the wake of escalating conflict across the Middle East, Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has announced that it will soon launch what it described as “the most devastating offensive operation in the history of the armed forces of the Islamic Republic of Iran.”
The warning was issued in a statement released through Iran’s semi-official media, signaling a significant escalation in the ongoing confrontation following the reported killing of Supreme Leader Ali Khamenei in a joint United States–Israel aerial assault.
The IRGC said the offensive would begin imminently and would target what it termed “the occupied territories and American terrorist bases” across the region.
The force’s announcement was carried by Iran’s Fars News Agency and reflected deep anger within Iran’s military establishment over the death of Khamenei.
State and international news outlets report that this threat follows a series of retaliatory strikes by Iran against U.S. military bases and Israeli infrastructure in the region, marking one of the most intense periods of military activity in recent Middle Eastern history.
Iran’s declaration underscores the potential for further widescale conflict that could draw in regional actors and global powers.
Analysts have warned that the rhetoric of a “devastating offensive” suggests Tehran is prepared to broaden its military response, though independent confirmation of concrete plans or timelines for the operation remains limited.
The situation continues to evolve rapidly, with world leaders and international organisations calling for restraint amid fears of a broader regional war.
