Iran Rules Out Negotiations With the United States

Iran’s top national security official has publicly declared that the country will not enter negotiations with the United States, intensifying a diplomatic deadlock amid a rapidly escalating Middle East conflict.

Ali Larijani, the secretary of Iran’s Supreme National Security Council, took to social media platform X to deny reports that Iran had sought to resume talks with Washington following recent military clashes involving U.S. and Israeli forces. Larijani’s statement stressed that Tehran rejects any negotiation with the United States at this stage.

Referring to a report by Al Jazeera, quoting The Wall Street Journal, that claimed Larijani attempted to resume negotiations with Washington through Oman, he noted: “We will not negotiate with the US.”

The remarks come against the backdrop of a dramatic regional escalation after U.S. and Israeli airstrikes, which killed Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, triggered retaliatory missile and drone strikes by Iran.

Larijani’s position hardens Iran’s stance, sharply distancing Tehran from diplomatic engagement with Washington while the regional conflict intensifies.

The International bodies such as The United Nations, European Union, and African Union has appealed for restraint and adherence to international law. Meanwhile various countries, have urged an immediate ceasefire and a return to diplomatic dialogue, even as Iran rebuffs direct talks with Washington at this stage
