IPOB Accuses Nigerian Army of Using Vaccination to Target Biafrans

Wednesday, October 1, 2025

IPOB Abia State Media has raised alarm over what it describes as a “dangerous and deceptive” free medical outreach currently being conducted by the Nigerian government through its military forces.

This is contained in the Press Release titled “Nigerian Government Free Medical Outreach, A Threat To Biafra Population”, and dated Tuesday, Sept 30th, 2025. The group warns that the program, presented as a benevolent health initiative, may in fact pose a grave threat to the lives and well-being of Biafrans.

On Tuesday, September 30th, 2025, operatives of the Nigerian Navy reportedly stationed themselves at Umuikaa Junction, Isiala Ngwa South LGA, Abia State, beside Brinak Cool Bar, where they began administering free medical care and vaccinations to residents, including children and mothers.

According to IPOB Abia State Media, the presence of armed forces conducting vaccinations in Biafra land is “highly condemnable” given “the vast hatred against Biafrans by this Tinubu-led armed regime.”

The movement argues that any health-related intervention carried out by the Nigerian military without the knowledge, consultation, or consent of the local population violates basic trust. We therefore call on the Navy and Nigeria Army authorities to cease forthwith from further vaccination of our people without the approval of Ndi Igbo and Biafrans in and around of every corner of Biafraland,” IPOB stated.

IPOB Abia Media further outlined why they consider the outreach a serious threat:

  1. Questionable Alliances: The Nigerian government has long collaborated with foundations like the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation. IPOB argues that such partnerships have historically treated Africans, and particularly Biafrans, as “test subjects” for vaccines, raising ethical and safety concerns.
  2. Population Politics: According to the movement, there is a historical agenda to weaken or reduce the Igbo/Biafran population. Stating that the Nigerian state, in collaboration with external actors such as Bill Gates, “equates our lives lower than that of a Fulani cow” and may use medical programs as tools of control.
  3. Trust Deficit: IPOB asserts that “those who inflicted us with diseases through their poverty-enhancing policies can’t be trusted with the same medication to improve our health.” In their view, the military’s involvement in healthcare delivery undermines confidence and signals ulterior motives.
  4. Historical Context: The movement states that British colonial policies, inherited by successive Nigerian governments, sought to diminish Biafran numbers. They warn that free vaccination programs administered by those “who wished for our extermination” cannot be taken at face value.

The group’s statement also issued a stern warning to Nigeria’s security forces: “Bear in mind that IPOB intelligence units are monitoring every move towards this evil mission.”

IPOB Abia State Media emphasized that its global movement remains committed to the protection of lives, properties, peace, and progress in Biafra land. The organization urged Ndi Igbo to be cautious, resist “Bill Gates-sponsored” or “genetically modified” vaccines, and to demand transparency and community-led approval for any medical programs in their communities.

“Together we say NO to Nigeria/Bill Gates-sponsored free vaccination,” the statement concluded.
