“I Never Loved Him” – Woman Confesses After Betraying Her U.S. Husband For Her Nigerian Boyfriend, Sparks Outrage
A shocking story of love, sacrifice, and betrayal has taken social media by storm after a Nigerian man narrated how he sponsored his now ex-wife’s education and family, only for her to betray him after relocating to the United States of America.
The man claimed he trained his wife through nursing school in Nigeria, financed her family’s welfare, and even processed her relocation to the U.S.
However, unknown to him, the woman had rekindled a romance with her former lover shortly after their wedding, a relationship she secretly maintained while her husband funded their education and living expenses.
Amid public outrage and sympathy for the husband, the woman has now written her own version of events.
“I Married Him Out of Obligation” – Her Confession
“Please, I am not writing to defend myself but to explain what really happened so people can understand my situation,” she began in her statement.
“My parents are retired teachers, and things were very hard for us. I had dropped out of college when my husband’s mother came to our house and told my mother she wished her son would marry me. My family encouraged me to accept, even though they knew I was already in a serious relationship and deeply in love with my first love. I felt I had little choice.”
She explained that her husband, who was living abroad at the time, saw her request to complete nursing school in Nigeria as a wise idea and supported her fully.
“He registered me in nursing school, paid all my fees, and even rented and furnished an apartment for me. But just months after he travelled back abroad, my first love came to visit. He pleaded that he still loved me and couldn’t let me go. I pitied him deeply, I was still very much in love with him. I couldn’t resist. We started seeing each other again, and he eventually moved in with me.”
“I Used My Husband’s Money to Support My Boyfriend”
The woman went on to reveal that while she lived with her lover, she kept demanding money from her husband abroad, pretending to be in need.
“To support us, I kept asking my husband for more money. He always sent large amounts. I used part of it to enroll my boyfriend in an IT program so he could get an international certificate. We planned that once I relocated to the U.S., I would process his papers to join me.”
After completing nursing school, she joined her husband in the U.S. and quickly secured a job, with his help.
“My husband was proud of me and had no idea. He helped me apply for work permits and submit my résumé to hospitals. I was doing well, but I still stayed in touch with my first love. After about four years, I helped him get a visa to come over. By then, I no longer cared if my husband found out, I was deeply in love with my partner.”
“I Am Sorry, Roland, But I Couldn’t Stay”
The woman admitted that she had intended to confess to her husband before he discovered the affair on his own.
“It’s true. I didn’t feel regretful about my choices because I never truly loved him. Our marriage was built on obligation from the start. I am sorry, Roland. Even after everything I did, you still begged to save our marriage, even when I was already pregnant for someone else. You kept apologizing when I was the one who was wrong.”
“Please forgive me, but staying would not have been fair to either of us. My heart belongs to another. Thank you for signing the divorce papers. My partner and I are ready to repay everything you spent on me. Please, let’s not be enemies. I pray that God blesses you with a woman who will love you the way you deserve.”
The story has continued to generate heated debate online. While many Nigerians expressed outrage at the woman’s confession, describing it as “heartless betrayal,” others blamed societal and family pressure for forcing women into loveless marriages.
