Criminal Enterprise and Her Deadly Handlers

Criminal Enterprise and Her Deadly Handlers

By Mazi Chika Austin

In recent times, opinions on whether Mazi Nnamdi Kanu should be freed on political and medical grounds or not have been making the airwaves. Those who are against his freedom, have been those within the corridors of power while opinions on the necessity of him being freed, have been emanating both from government circles and non government side respectively.

For those within the Government who opposed his freedom, their argument has been based on the feeble narratives of him “causing insecurities in South-East” while some, in their self-destructive hatred, expands their accusations on the truncated ENDSARS protests. When one further probes to understand the bases of the latter argument, the lovers of this feeble narrative weakly submit that “he encouraged the protesters”.

PROTEST IS A RIGHT OF THE CITIZENS

The attempt to criminalize citizens rights of protests through narratives with criminal undertones, is laughable. Who amongst those in the government that hasn’t participated actively on protest? From President Bola Ahmed Tinubu to the retired police officers whose retirement benefits are contested, everyone has or is seeing the same now.

Loaning a voice of support to those who were protesting against police brutalities, should be seen as the pathway of the brave which MNK did. Prior to this time, Nigerian police was designed as an elite police, configured to oppress, and sniffed lives out of the common man. The defunct SARS unit was more of Government mafias’ whose terrors and horrors on the citizens, can’t be overemphasized!

The ruling class were ok with such brutal unit of the police as they were used by these political predators, to harass, disappear and even eliminate dissenting forces. The protest was ideal by the then humiliated citizens against the intimidating arm of the government. MNK never initiated the protest neither was he seen leading any in the front.

For the transition of the peaceful protest to violent one, it is all the making of the Government. The action of the Nigerian security personnel at lekki tollgate, remains a fresh history. It was an attempt by the Government to radicalize the peaceful protesters as a means to justify dislodging the protesters, that the Nigeria security forces, started the horrific shooting of peaceful protesters. That singular act and the subsequent reactions which was planned by the Government, led to the violent tone of the protest.

If anyone is to be queried on the violent tone of the EndSars protest, it is the government who provoked the protesters by washing the Lekki tollgate with their bloods. It was a horror that every official of the government who supervised that state murdering of her citizens, should have been cooling down in jail. But because Nigeria is a captured country by criminals and murderers, the perpetrators of that heinous acts, are boldly hitting their chest over their crimes again humanity.

In Nepal, Bangladesh, Morroco, Kenya and other places, we have seen more disturbing protests which midwife a new and better society for the people. You can’t impoverished and rendered the lives of the citizenry hopeless and defined to them, how they express their anger towards hopelessness! The luck the Nigerian destructive political class have today, is the fact that there are more stupid “influencers” than the reasonable ones.

If not that education is dead and those Nigeria look upon as influencers, are already at the payroll of the government, I wonder why the destructive political class will be comfortable while thousands of lives perish on daily bases. I give it to the political class who have successfully reduced the mind of an average Nigeria to self hate and self lost of confidence. As a conquered people, an average Nigerian would prefer to hate the enemy of his oppressor simply because he wants 10,000 data money. He comes online to write trash because he wants his “oga” to know that he is working.

Damned souls! I watched Isaac Fayose screaming while in Nairobi as he saw presence of world acclaimed big techs in Kenya. He exclaimed on constant electricity and amazing economic infrastructures which he wondered why such can’t be replicated in Nigeria. But little did he understand that there is absolutely nothing “miraculous” in Kenya rather consciousness by their political class that they have conscious citizens who are ready to go mad on the streets of Nairobi, if their leadership acts unguardedly.

While in Kenya and other workable places in Africa and the world, such has been a way to boot out their corrupt leaders. In Nigeria, the DESTRUCTIVE LEADERS expect the ruined population to engage in prayers. While protests are making changes all over the globe, Nigerians are asked to pray while their oppressors wrecked havocs on them. So therefore, MNK support to the EndSars protests, should be applauded as only such lane can change the DESTRUCTIVE LEADERS.
