BREAKING: Trump Orders Christmas Day Annihilation Strikes on ISIS in Nigeria Over Attacks on Christians

Abuja, Nigeria – December 26, 2025

President Donald J. Trump has confirmed that the United States carried out what he described as a “powerful and deadly strike” against ISIS militants operating in northwest Nigeria, following sustained attacks on Christian communities.

Posting on his official social media handles, President Trump said the strikes were executed at his direct order as Commander in Chief, warning that the era of restraint was over for terrorists targeting Christians.

“Tonight, at my direction as Commander in Chief, the United States launched a powerful and deadly strike against ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria, who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians, at levels not seen for many years, and even centuries!”

President Trump, had long issued clear warnings to the terrorists long before now, urging them to halt the “slaughtering of Christians.” Those warnings, he said, were totally ignored, rather the terrorists intensified their attacks on Christian communities.

“I have previously warned these Terrorists that if they did not stop the slaughtering of Christians, there would be hell to pay, and tonight, there was.”

The President went further, making it unmistakably clear that the U.S. position is one of total annihilation of terrorist forces should the killings continue.

“Under my leadership, our Country will not allow Radical Islamic Terrorism to prosper.”

The military action was officially acknowledged by U.S. Africa Command (AFRICOM), which confirmed that the strikes were conducted on December 25, 2025, in Sokoto State, northwest Nigeria.

In its statement on X, AFRICOM said the operation was carried out at the direction of the President of the United States and the Secretary of War, and in coordination with Nigerian authorities, targeting ISIS terrorists operating in the area.

President Trump praised the execution of the operation, stating that the Department of War carried out “numerous perfect strikes”, stressing that such military precision is unmatched.

“The Department of War executed numerous perfect strikes, as only the United States is capable of doing.”

He closed his message with a mix of faith and unmistakable warning, making it clear that further violence against Christians would trigger even deadlier consequences.

“May God Bless our Military, and MERRY CHRISTMAS to all, including the dead Terrorists, of which there will be many more if their slaughter of Christians continues.”

The announcement sparked an immediate and emotionally charged reaction among Nigerians and observers worldwide, with many calling for sustained and even expanded strikes against terrorist enclaves.

Chika Austine hailed President Trump as “one in a million… the bravest of the bravest,” describing him as “a literal tool in the hand of the creator,” and symbolically offered a Christmas ram from his village in gratitude.

Abayomi Kenneth Adedayo praised Trump for “shining a light on the problem,” while insisting that the attack on Fulani terrorists does not just save Christians, “both Christians and Muslims are victims.”

From a broader humanitarian lens, Misikir Kebede Witness emphasized that leadership demands the protection of innocent lives and the confrontation of terror, expressing hope for an end to Fulani terrorism and a future anchored in peace, justice, and human dignity.

Beyond Nigeria, the reaction was unmistakably global. Mike Nordhoff applauded Trump as “a president who doesn’t care about people’s opinions, just does what needs to be done,” while Danielle Carothers described the action as “God’s work protecting God’s people,” adding prayers for divine guidance and protection.

Together, the reactions reflect a mix of gratitude, sober reflection, and growing calls for decisive international action against terrorism in Nigeria.

Echoing the President’s message, U.S. Ambassador to the United Nations, Mike Waltz, took to X to send a direct message to Christians in Nigeria and around the world:

“Merry Christmas to the Christians in Nigeria and around the world who know tonight that the President of the United States will fight for them.”

The Christmas Day strikes mark a significant escalation in U.S. posture against ISIS elements operating within Nigeria, and has been described as a moral and military response to religiously targeted violence.

With explicit warnings of annihilation of terrorists now on record, the message from Washington is blunt: continued attacks on Christians will be met with overwhelming force.

As Nigeria and the international community absorb the implications of this development, one thing is clear, the line drawn by Donald Trump has been crossed by the terrorists, and the consequences, by his own words, will only grow harsher.
