Guinness World Record Recognizes Hilda Baci for Largest Serving of Nigerian Jollof Rice

Nigerian celebrity chef Hilda Baci has once again carved her name into culinary history after Guinness World Records (GWR) confirmed her latest achievement: the largest serving of Nigerian-style jollof rice, weighing an astonishing 8,780 kilograms (19,356 lb 9 oz).

In an announcement shared on GWR’s official social media channels on Monday, the organization celebrated Baci’s feat, writing:

“Largest serving of Nigerian style jollof rice 🍲 8,780 kg (19,356 lb 9 oz) by Hilda Baci and Gino Nigeria 🇳🇬. Nigerian chef Hilda Baci has made her way back into the record books after kick-starting record fever across Africa.”

Partnering with the food brand Gino Nigeria, Baci led a massive culinary effort that turned into a festival of food and community.

According to the Guinness post, the marathon cook-up required nine hours of “fire, passion and teamwork,” fueled by 1,200 kg of gas, and produced a staggering 16,600 plates of rice “served with joy, love and community.”

This latest milestone builds on Baci’s global fame after her 2023 Guinness World Record for the longest cooking marathon, which inspired an outpouring of support from Nigerians and food lovers worldwide.

The vibrant event showcased not only Nigeria’s beloved jollof rice but also the power of collaboration. Thousands of volunteers and food enthusiasts reportedly gathered to witness the preparation and enjoy plates of the iconic West African dish, further cementing Baci’s role as a culinary ambassador for Nigerian cuisine.

With this achievement, Guinness World Record recognizes Hilda Baci as she continues to elevate the region’s rich food culture on the global stage, sparking renewed pride in a dish long celebrated as a symbol of West African heritage and culinary excellence.
