Drama in Abuja: Police Arrest Regina Daniels’ Brother Over Assault Allegations, Actress Cries Political Witch-Hunt

Abuja, Nigeria – November 7, 2025

The Federal Capital Territory Police Command (FCT Command) has provided details surrounding the arrest and remand of Samuel Ojeogwu, also known as “Sammy West,” and the brother of actress Regina Daniels.

According to police statements, Ojeogwu was apprehended after a formal petition was filed on October 28, 2025, accusing him and three others of criminal conspiracy, trespass, assault, intimidation, theft, and cyberbullying.

The FCT Police Public Relations Officer, SP Josephine Adeh, said that invitations for questioning were sent to Mr Ojeogwu by the Metro Area Command, but he allegedly ignored them.

He was eventually arrested in Lagos, under a warrant issued by a competent court, and subsequently transported to Abuja for further investigation.

According to the report, the investigation was concluded swiftly, and on November 6 2025, Ojeogwu was charged in court with offences including criminal conspiracy, criminal trespass, assault, criminal intimidation, and theft. He has since been remanded pending fulfilment of his bail conditions.

The case gained additional attention after Regina Daniels claimed that her brother’s arrest was politically motivated. She alleged that her estranged husband, Ned Nwoko (Senator), manipulated the system to intimidate her through her brother’s detention.

The report notes that Daniels asserted her brother was remanded at Keffi Prison, Nasarawa State, by the order of a Dutse Magistrate Court, reportedly without access to his lawyer or family members.
