Football superstar Cristiano Ronaldo has opened up about his journey to becoming a billionaire, his mindset toward money, and how his priorities have evolved over the years.
In an exclusive interview with British journalist Piers Morgan, Ronaldo said achieving billionaire status was one of his lifelong goals.
According to him, he always believed he would get there, but the moment it finally happened still brought him immense joy.
“I knew I was going to be a billionaire, but I was super happy when it finally happened,” Ronaldo said. “Becoming a billionaire was one of my goals, and making money is important.”
The Portuguese forward, who currently plays for Al-Nassr in Saudi Arabia, explained that hard work and consistent performance on the pitch made his success possible. “Being and performing my best made it possible,” he added.
Speaking about his most expensive purchase, Ronaldo revealed that his private jet tops the list. “The most expensive thing? Plane. Global Express,” he said.
The football legend explained that he bought his aircraft for convenience and comfort. “I bought my plane because I can’t use airports while travelling, and also because it’s a comfort,” he said.
Ronaldo, who is worth an estimated $1.4 billion, noted that while money has been good to him, it no longer holds the same meaning. “The money is good, but it’s not important anymore. As much as I can go shopping and buy whatever I want, I don’t need that anymore,” he said.
The five-time Ballon d’Or winner also reflected on how his passions have changed over time. “As a youngster, my passion was fast cars, but I’ve passed that chapter of my life,” he remarked.
