Video: Mass Stabbing Inside UK Train Leaves Nine with Life-Threatening Injuries
London, UK – November 2, 2025
A brutal mass stabbing on a high-speed train in eastern England has left nine passengers fighting for their lives, according to law enforcement reports.
The incident occurred shortly after 6:25 pm GMT on Saturday aboard the 1825 service from Doncaster to London King’s Cross. Police say a man wielding a large knife carried out the rampage after the train departed Peterborough station in Cambridgeshire.
Officers from the British Transport Police (BTP) and armed units from Cambridgeshire Police rushed to the scene at Huntingdon station, where they boarded the train and arrested two people in connection with the attack.
Emergency responders mobilized a massive operation, deploying ambulances, critical care teams, and three air ambulances to rush victims to hospitals
At least ten people were taken to hospital. Nine are described by police as suffering life-threatening injuries, while one person is being treated for non-life-threatening wounds.
The incident has been declared a major incident and is being treated as a potential terrorism-linked act; counter-terrorism units are supporting the investigation.
BTP Chief Superintendent Chris Casey said the investigation is in its early stages and declined to speculate on cause or motive, stating: “It could take some time before we are in a position to confirm anything further.”
Witnesses described chaotic scenes: a man with a large knife moving through the train, frightened passengers hiding in toilets, and blood on the floor as people attempted to flee.
One witness told The Times it was “blood everywhere” and that people were being “stamped on” in the scramble.
Another described the incident as “like something from a film … a terrible scene, really violent.”
Prime Minister Keir Starmer called the event “deeply concerning” and urged the public to follow police instructions.
Police say cordons remain in place, train services stopped through the area, and road closures are in effect while their response continues.
With nine people in critical condition, authorities prioritise both medical response and forensic investigation. Given the involvement of counter-terrorism police, the possibility of a motive tied to extremist action cannot be ruled out. The public has been asked to remain vigilant and report any information relevant to the investigation.
